I photograph people.
Sometimes they’re in a studio. Sometimes they’re running through a park, standing on a stage, working in an office, celebrating with family or completely forgetting that there’s a camera nearby.
That last part is usually where the best photographs happen.
I’m based in Dublin and work across family photography, portraits, business photography, events and documentary-style projects.
The setting changes, but what interests me stays pretty much the same: real expressions, personality, connection and the moments that make people look like themselves.
And that’s completely normal.
Most people aren’t professional models and shouldn’t be expected to behave like them.
My job is to give enough direction to make the photograph work without turning the whole experience into an exercise in posing.
With children, that might mean letting them move, play or take their time.
With portraits, it might mean finding the right light, position and expression without making everything feel staged.
At an event, it often means stepping back and paying attention.
Different situations need different approaches. The goal is always the same: photographs that feel natural, intentional and worth keeping.
I like photographs with context.
A portrait can tell you something about a person. A family photograph can show a relationship. An event photograph can capture the atmosphere of an entire room.
Sometimes the strongest image is carefully constructed.
Sometimes it happens in half a second.
Knowing when to direct and when to leave things alone is a big part of the job.
AWARDS
In June 2026, two of my photographs received IPPVA Bronze Awards
in the Reportage & Photojournalism category.
One was photographed during the Timahoe Heritage Festival and the other in the Boyne Valley near Slane.
It was the first photography competition I had entered.
Not a bad way to start. ;D
PHOTO4U IRELAND
Photo4U IRELAND is a Dublin-based photography business operated by JPA Media Works LTD and fully insured for professional photography work.
I work with individuals, families, businesses, organisations and event teams across Dublin and beyond.
Whether the photograph is made for a wall, a website, a press release or simply because somebody wants to remember this particular version of their life, it deserves the same thing:
attention to the person in front of the camera.
